About Caroline Jack

I am a fully qualified Life Coach, PVG checked and a trained Mental Health Youth First Aider and a current member of the Association of Coaching (AC). I am experienced in working with adults and adolescents as a life coach helping people move forward in their lives using positive psychology. Life coaching is something I am passionate about as I believe everyone has the ability to find their purpose and that sense of achievement, its just sometimes useful to have help along the way.

Life coaching allows me to work with individuals who want to move forward, who want to make a change but are feeling stuck, people who just need a bit of guidance to get things going in the right direction and who need a positive influence in their lives.

I have built my life in East Lothian, Scotland having moved over from New Zealand in 2000. I am married with 3 teenage children and love nothing more then to walk, run, sing and talk to my 2 dogs.

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Management BCom from Victoria University in NZ and have spent most of my career in an entrepreneurial role with both profit and not-for-profit organisations.  I have been a mentor for MOVE On, a charity helping vulnerable children, I co-founded the  charity SMART WORKS Edinburgh which helps women gain confidence, I founded a social enterprise in 2016 helping women return to work after a career break, and have also worked in sales, marketing and recruitment through my career.  I have also recently trained as a Mental Health First Aider through the MHFA England.

I believe I am a positive person who has empathy for others as well as an intuition to their true values. I love to motivate and enable people to be the best that they can be. I truly believe that a positive attitude will take you a long way!

About Life coaching?

Life Coaching can quite literally be “life changing” as its often the first time people have actually taken time out to focus on themselves and had a true insight into what is going on inside their own head. It’s a chance to be completely honest and true to oneself and then gradually to start building the steps needed to achieve a better quality of life.

The past year has been incredibly unsettling for everyone and as we slowly start to integrate our lives back to what they were, for many this will be a really anxious time. I can help people work through these anxieties and allow them a space and time to validate these feelings.

Coaching is a collaborative, 2-way relationship that focuses on boosting a clients well-being. In my coaching practice I use positive psychological techniques to harness a clients own personal qualities and resources.  Life coaching also offers clients accountability. While it is important to take ownership of change, accountability improves the likelihood of committing to and achieving a goal. We are more likely to take action if someone is holding us accountable.

Life coaching also offers a space for people to explore their feelings, objections and challenges when discussing their personal life. Not only does the coach become a sounding board for the client but the client can gain clarity through an open discussion with their coach. Essentially, this space is an exploration without judgement.

5 benefits of having a Life Coach:

  1. GET OUT OF YOUR OWN HEAD – most of us have a reality we have created      for ourselves. We can become limited by this reality and can only see what      we can see. Talking to a life coach can help you see more clearly so you can dream bigger, see further and remove the blinkers.
  2. CHANGE YOUR HABITS  - we all do things as a function of  habit and sometimes these habits are not helping us. When we want to achieve things we haven’t achieved before and go further sometimes we need to change our habits and how we do things.
  3. GET OVER IT -  if you find yourself struggling with an emotional challenge in life or something that is really troubling you however big or small, a life coach is there to listen and guide you and help you get over that emotional challenge.
  4. HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE  - a life coach will help you identify what you really want in life -  your visions, dreams, goals and commitments and hold you accountable to them on your journey so you are more likely to reach them.  A life coach will be there to ask you the questions that will get you back on track and have the tools to help you      get back on track.
  5. TO HELP YOU GO FROM WHERE YOU ARE NOW TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE – the ultimate job of a life coach is to help you find the BEST IN YOU and help you achieve the BEST FOR YOU.  Sometimes by setting goals it can help stretch us and stay motivated. Its the job of a life coach to help you stay focused on those goals.

"Confidence is our most trusted ally...let me help you gain more confidence...its what I love to do and what we all need more of."  Caroline

Life Coaching can help you to remove the barriers that are holding you back

We all have areas in our life where we feel stuck. As a life coach I will help you identify those barriers and find ways you can overcome them. Self criticism and lack of self belief can be the biggest barriers - life coaching will help you gain clarity and believe in yourself.

Life Coaching can help you find your purpose

Life is full of opportunities, and it is the job of a life coach to help you figure out which opportunities to take advantage of in order to live the life you want. I believe everyone needs to feel a sense of purpose and meaning  and I will work with you to find that purpose.

Life coaching will help you make a plan for a better life

If you want to live a full life, you need a plan to make it happen. You need to set some goals and start focusing on what you want to do.

Life coaching will help you make this plan whether that be health and exercise or hobbies and career, and as you work with me as your life coach I will help you stick to it!
